Hi,

Im quite new to PH and Im also quite new in the motor trade, Feb 2006 (by myself that is, been workikg for main dealer for 9 years)

Im quite small and just trade from home at the moment. Although I intend to expand during 2007, maybe even buy a new single car transporter and get that hired out. If anyone has any experience in this type of business, Id be pleased to hear your thoughts.

Also happy to hear from fellow traders/dealers.

I'm doing the same with a business partner, although I have no experience of the motor trade in terms of selling I do know how to fix cars.

We're just building the business up slowly, reputation first, profit later (hopefully!!)

Hope your partner has good contacts for buying cars, as anyone in the trade will tell you buying good stock at the right money is by far the hardest part of the job. Getting them prepped and selling them is far easier than buying the right cars.

Ive been in the motor trade since 1987 and have been trading the last 7 years from home.. would echo the comment of selling is easy.. " buying right "can be the hard bit !

Thinking of starting but agree sourcing correct stock looks to be a tricky job. Not quite in the same league as elms there - nice offerings btw!
