Light Engineering Shop - Billericay/Basildon
Discussion
I need a retaining plate, that would be a few mm thick and about 6" in diameter and a domed shaped, threaded cap about 2" tall and about 1 1/2" in diameter. Both out of brass. I should be getting the full specification soon.
Looking for a shop that could produce these one offs for me?
Suggestions welcome.

Not Bas or Bill but there's a small engineering workshop on Coopers Court in Braintree on Springwood Industrial Estate - first unit on the left (DB Sheetmetal - no affiliation, just know that they are there).
There are a couple of workshops on West Station Industrial Estate in Maldon as well.
Doubtless there are a few in Bas - have a look on the smaller estates within the larger Burnt Mills or Cranes Industrial Estates.
Not sure if any of them would do what your looking for but maybe worth a call.

Thanks. Yes, Burnt Mills or Cranes was exactly what I was thinking. It's a goldmine of engineering. There are a couple of workshops on West Station Industrial Estate in Maldon as well.

I've had so much stuff done there - Gaz Shocks & Fine Line Welding are there and also shops that do sand blasting, plating, alternator and starter motor rebuilds, there's even an outfit who do work on carbs and ignition system (but they couldn't help me).

That's a residential addres (Sunrise Ave) - his work looks like what your looking for though. https://www.goddenengineeringservices.co.uk/

Thanks but Yes, I have already dropped the drawings off with Goddens. It's a one man business but with a very well equipped workshop. Some impressive engineering work. He ran an MG restoration business in Chelmsford for 10 odd years with his brother. So plenty to talk about!

I can thoroughly recommend Godden's. It's a one man band with an impressive workshop. Lance is a proper engineer,he really knows his stuff and is very interesting to talk to. https://www.goddenengineeringservices.co.uk/
After consulting other owners, I had the plate made of aluminium and the bolt from steel:
