We are visiting Tonbridge soon. We used to have lunch at the Ivy House, but I gather it has closed. Can anyone suggest anywhere else please? Ideally within walking distance of Bordyke.

I can highly recommend the Gaab Kao Thai restaurant. Enjoy your day!

Central Tonbridge is a bit of a mixed bag. I’d drive 5 mins to the Poacher and Partridge.

We are visiting someone in central Tonbridge and had hoped to walk. Instead I think we may go to Tunbridge Wells and meet them there.

Much more choice in RTW

I would recommend The Beacon but you need to book.

I'll second this. Great pub!

We ate at Carluccio in RTW. It was mediocre. We found nowhere in Tonbridge that fitted the bill.

Had a good meal at Tunbridge Wells Bar and Grill last night though and we are at the Ivy tonight.

TW Bar and Grill is always a good eat and great atmosphere, although service can be hit and miss. How was the Ivy? I'd recommend Mount Edgcumbe too.

Ivy was hit and miss. For whatever reason they cannot serve white wine cold and the starters were meh. Shepherd’s pie delivered as usual though.

Generally I like RTW a lot and it’s is way better than Tonbridge.

Ah, that's the Ivy House (now closed) in Tonbridge. We went to the Ivy (spin-off chain restaurant from "The Ivy" in London) in Tunbridge Wells. It was nice but not as nice as it should have been.
