Going to TJs American diner in Maidstone Sunday morning. I'll let you know if us any good.
Never heard of the place so had a quick look at their website. Not in the best location, website links don't work and some of the text is awful.
TJs American Diner is to become the newest and unique eccentricity in Maidstone
one of those must visit places that make people travel for miles to the city

Another vote for Oakdene but be very very careful driving into the car park, there are some massive pot holes.
+1 Colourful language is not the issue. It's a biker's meeting place so very busy.
You'll be standing in a queue for quite a while unless you time it just right.
I know it's not Kent, but Rye is very close to the border so these are worth a look.
Especially as some of the best roads are not far away

Roads down to Dungeness then on to Rye are pretty good.Colourful language is not the issue. It's a biker's meeting place so very busy.

I like the Big Breakfast(?) at the Railway Cafe in Dungeness. The cooking there seems to be better than the sister branches at Hythe or New Romney.
Also a nice cafe next to the Reculver Tower although the breakfast needs a little bolstering with additional items to be a true Full English.

We regularly use Gasparutti's in Market Rd. Very good, sausages etc sourced from the butcher rather than frozen. You have to walk in to get to it, that's all.I know it's not Kent, but Rye is very close to the border so these are worth a look.

Lots of bikers in Rye at B Hols particularly. Plod will do speed cameras along the Military Rd (probably others) I'm told.
blimey, wouldn't rate the Oakdene myself, yes big portions, but quality is average at best.
Riverside Cafe at Yalding, between the 2 locks is good fare and they have a garden.
Hawkhurst fisheries - tidy grub
Deal pier
the Oasis Cafe on the New Romney rd ( better quality than the one by the Harbour in Rye imho)
