We are staying in Sandwich on Saturday. Can anyone suggest something decent to do in the area? Happy for long walks, etc.

Only the two of us so doesn't have to be family orientated.

Any suggestions for places to eat would be welcomed too.

Thanks

Try the Explore Kent web site for walks, I know there is one there for Sandwich.

Sandwich is a pretty little place and there is a nice looking pub near the bridge that has a good reputation for food.

Enjoy your weekend.

The Bell is very nice, in fact the whole of Sandwich is very nice. Lots of pubs in the area and often live music on a Saturday night.

You can come and see us at The Grove Ferry near Canterbury if you like.

We're opposite Stodmash nature reserve which is nice for walks (nice little drive too bringing you back into Canterbury or Sandwich).

There is also a garden (mildly boggy after the river burst its banks) with rogue Bantam Hens a Pig and Pedro the Golden Pheasant.

Failing that Pegwell Bay nature reserve is just up the road from Sandwich and that has lovely walks along the bay, there is even a heard of Aberdeen Angus and some Donkeys knocking about.

As mentioned The Bell is a good shout, as is the little tearooms/restaurant on the quayside just down the way from it.
