...and have any feedback either way? I need a couple of electrical niggles on my old 5 series looking at, and the air con changing to the newer type of gas.

I believe they've been around a long time and the website reads well enough, but I want to make sure the car is in good hands.

If not them, any other local suggestions for auto electricians? Thanks.

I've heard good things about South Eastern Auto Electrics, but not used them myself.
I have used the services of a guy called Steve Smith, who was excellent.
I can get his number if you like and mail you with it in a day or two.

For air con, Mick at BSB at Pye Corner is a great guy to deal with.

He's a mobile kind of guy.
I think he lives around Yalding way, or at least he used to.

Last time I called upon his services I'd spent days trying to find a fault with my highly modified turbocharged E30 BMW running Megasquirt management, he turned up in a (very tidy) MG Midget with a bulb on a couple of bits of wire and found the fault in about 3 minutes! laugh

I've used South East Auto Electrical to replace the condenser on my Mums Merc. Service was good and the cost of the condenser/labour/a/c recharge was £250ish.

Interesting - I have a very easy to sort problem, just involves wiring in a new relay socket. Would he travel as far as Bromley?

Edit: can you email me his number?

The mobile guy Steve sounds like he might be sympathetic towards a 25 year old BMW with more electrically operated bits than is strictly necessary, which is what I'm after really.

Then again I could probably leave it down at SEAES for a couple of days which might be useful. Thanks vikingaero. Does anyone else have any more experience of them?

Can't help with the aircon re-gas, but happy to help fellow ph'er with electrics.

Spent a couple of weekends tracing the Chimaera wiring to fix a few faults so no stranger to weird wiring issues.

pm me if you still need help

Regards

I have used Ian / Sub Zero for all my air con work over the last few years. Very competitive prices and he comes to you.
I think he is Folkestone based so he covers most of kent and surrounding areas and is especially knowledgable in the R12 to RS24 gas conversion area.

Over the years he has worked on my Nissan 300zx, Mitsubishi Pajero and a BMW e36 M3 evo amongst others and he may well be able to sort out the other problems you have,.

The Pro-Evo.

I have a set of four 560's from a later car that I want to fit when next mapped. But I really should get them cleaned to make sure the flows are consistent.

I have had a new faulty PE injector waste a mapping session on my Impreza.
