Anybody been to this new Cafe/diner at the A12 Junction off towards Marks Tey near Colchester?
It has recently been taken over and refurbished and there was an evening where it was full off mopeds and last week full of VW Camper vans.

Plenty of parking outside and next to the Shell garage.

That'll be the old "bungalow" location. Nah haven't been in there since the take over although could leave for work early one day. scratchchin

Last time I was there there were two transport cafes next to each other, I've just looked on google maps and one is now a hand car wash and there's new houses opposite. Don't things change in 30 years.

I prefer to have breakfast every now and then in The Food Company at the same junction/roundabout.

The Eggs Benedict are a real treat.lick

Took the nipper for a milkshake the other day.
All very retro like the 8-Ball was, pretty standard menu, well priced and they did a decent milkshake.
Hopefully they'll organise some meets....
Agree about the Food Co. across the road, I've not eaten there but they sell some nice grub!

The butchers counter is a joy, the dessert offerings are sublime and the langoustine/lobster/scallop offerings make me shiver with delight.

That would be the Bungalow Diner. Went there a couple of weeks back on a Thursday evening, quite busy and the food was surprisingly good!

How about a breakfast gathering at The Food Company?

Eggs Benedict, Columbian Coffee and I would happily create a drivers route around Abberton, Wigborough, Salcott, Goldhanger, Heybridge, Totham, Tiptree, Messing, Easthorpe, Copford and Marks Tey.

Just a thought.

Sounds good. I am in there tomorrow, I will mention it to the restaurant manager and see where it goes.

BTW, are you the NSXCB Silver Surfer?

Right, first of all breakfast was as good as ever this morning, Eggs Benedict and copious amounts of fresh coffee. Nice.

As for a breakfast meet, the restaurant manager is happy for it to happen, the customer care manager has my email address and will forward me a complete menu (inc veggie Brad) so we can pre-order our food which will help the restaurant out. They will hold a section of the seating area for us should the numbers be high enough too.

It can be done on a Saturday or Sunday morning so we should be able to come up with a good turnout.

For those who require it, Shell have a garage next to the venue so V-Power is on tap. laugh
