Hi locals,

Does anybody know of a local (PH?) alloy repair person?

I fear my BMW has a cracked wheel, that will need welding.

I am Chelmsford based, but would travel a little for somewhere recommended or run by a PH'er

Many thanks

I used simpson autocare- Chris is awesome and based just behind Broomfield Hospital area.
Mine were never cracked but I think he can do this for you.

If you haven't got this sorted already, why not check out www.eawr.co.uk

They are Braintree based, their work is guaranteed and they can even come to you and collect.

Cheers

John at Alloy Art in Southend. Does all Southend Audi and BMW stuff, so is fully approved with all the kit.
Nice guy too! Has done three sets for me know, all faultless.

If you have the 19's, you had better keep our eyes open.
Had a 330d cab a few years back, and that cracked a rear by 10'000 miles!

I went to someone based on comments earlier in the thread and whilst they may be good at basic painting of wheels but the diamond cutting of my TVR wheels came out very poorly indeed. They blamed the metal istelf for being old and casuing the very obvious mottling on the rim. In real life it actually looks like water has laready got under the clear coat and is starting to go milky.

Save your cash and go to Lepsons in Kent. Fresh refurb diamond cut rims should not look like this:

Have used Lepsons in Kent via KDS Keltec (literally next door) and Lepson's first attempt to redo my wheels had some issues with the finish.

KDS has them redo the wheels and they came out great second time round, I guess like anything sometimes the work doesn't go to plan. Some 3 years on the wheels are still perfect and I'd go back to them despite the above!
