B&B recommendation in Colchester area?
Discussion
Hi,
I am planning my autumn holidays and are still undecided whether to go the Beaulieu autojumble in the New Forst on september 7th or to the Chappel bear festival near Colchester... Possibly I will try both, Chappel on saturday, Beaulieu on sunday. PH holidays...
Anyway, can anyone recommend a B&B in Colchester? Personal experience would be nice!
Thanks, Chris

The Crown at Stoke By Nayland is 10 miles away from Chappel Station where they hold the beer festival, it is in a superb setting and worth every penny in my opinion.

Nice place and within spitting distance of the beer festival.
Patrica is a lovely old lady who will treat you well.

Used to live near Chappel and go to this every other year.
I would recommend the Mill Hotel in Sudbury. If time allows you can spend the day wandering Sudbury, the meadows and the old railway walk. Then use the Gainsborough branch line to get to the beer festival (15 minutes at most). They actually put on a couple of later trains for the festival.
I know allot of the hotels around the area (lived there 27 years) so feel free to pm me if you need any advice.
