Dartford Crossing

I'm sure most are aware that average speed cameras are supposedly operative on the northern approach of the Dartford Crossing. Earlier this this week road signs were 'up' stating that the cameras were now operative on the Southern approach. Even more worrying (and I could be wrong) when coming up from the south and just before the A2 junction I was sure on the opposite carriageway I saw a gantry mounted Gatso flash off at a vehicle heading south!
