I've not seen an organised meeting on here in at least 4 thousand years when the Essex lads seem to have them pretty regularly.

Hi Ryan

Its pretty simple. Just find a car friendly pub with a decent car park and get the landlords agreement then post up. Our pub is a decent size and do pub food which we quite often take advantage of. So its good for the Pub and its good for us.Our Essex meets were started by another guy and when he left the area I started doing the first post and it all follows on from that.

It takes a while but you will find that you gain new friends over time. We dont have any rules and we always say all are welcome.cool

Best pub left in Kent is probably the Peacock in Goudhurst. Beer is amazing and the food good. Large car park. If anyone is interested I could go and have a beer and ask.

Another good venue is the Historic Dockyard in Chatham. There's a brewery there! Nelson. A nearby pub and loads of parking. I moor my boat there, near to the brewery, of course.
Again I could ask.

Know it well. One of my favourite pubs. Highly recommended. Excellent beer garden for chilling out when the weather is good. It's not in Goudhurst itself but over a mile and a half east at the junction of the A262/B2085.

I would say large is a relative term for the car park. It's a popular pub and the layout is quite awkward and restrictive.

I know the landlord and have used in several times for club runs/meets. If there is any interest I could get it up and running. For a west Kent meet a couple of other excellent possibilities are the Wheatsheaf at Bough Beech and the Kentish Horse at Markbeech: both near Edenbridge.

What about the pub that a few PH meets have been to - the Barn I think it was? Run by a PHer.

The Peacock would be best for a mid-week meet as it does get very busy at the weekend. Especially in the summer.

What ever happened to Cafe Donjon in Wadhusrt station? Was run by a real petrol head...have to check that one again.

I think they had to stop meeting there after a Christmas meet got out of hand, other forums turned up and the local roads got blocked.

Not any more its not, sadlyfrown

That was The Manor Farm Barn. The last me we arranged there had over 350 cars & about 20 local TVRCC members as marshalls, are you sure you have access to a big enough car park?

Nice spot for a few to get together but at the really big meet it was chaos. The owner is (was?) a lovely guy but the locals gave him hell after the big meet, that was why we decided to have marshals at The Manor Farm Barn which helped no end. (But it was bloody cold out there all day!)

The Woodman at Ide Hill is a good meeting spot, and the TexMex place the last few Kent meets were at is OK.

Agreed. Another one I have used a number of times in the past.

Indeed. I was thinking of a regular monthly meet which, for me at any rate, means a weekday evening as I have far too much going on at weekends. smile

I'm happy to kick start something at the Peacock and see how it goes. Does the second Tuesday of the month sound OK to people?

Great idea
I'm in, if a mk2 MX5 is PH enough, would be great to start something now and build up to the better nights.

I've never quite fathomed what a 'PH enough' car is. wobble

The only requirement is that it has four (OK, three if you drive a Morgan cool ) wheels and an engine. As long as you're a petrolhead that's good enough as far as I am concerned. wink

So far I count 4 potential attendees so that's incentive enough to get to work on it. Watch this space. smile

Might be tempted to come along. Used to go to a few meets in my last car but none through PH. Might wash it especially so hope the dirt isn't holding it together.

Yup. Get going on that one. My Esprit + the Milf's Supra plus a few others no doubt.

OK. It's a PH meet. We have the MX 5's, now need some Trevors and a couple of 911's to make the set.
