I have an old 70's Ford in need of some minor bodywork and a full respray in current original white - I want a good, but not necessarily concours, standard. I understand that there are restrictions on who can apply two pack paint which is what I was recommended to have - however being a novice to this kind of thing I'll take advice. So seeking recommendations for anyone in the Ashford or Kent coast area?

Though I'm admittedly biased because I know the chap, I couldn't recommend KDS Keltec any more highly (www.kdskeltec.co.uk) - in Gillingham.

Hiya, I have a guy in that area who is a proper sprayer. Does quite a lot of exotica but is just starting up so you get a fantastic job for a run of the mill price. PM me for his details.

possibly a little to far along the coast but I'd highly recommend these guys http://www.sprcoachworks.co.uk

They painted my E30 M3 and have worked on a couple of my other cars, I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Thanks all for your replies, I went around the area Monday looking for someone to take on the job , sadly Whitecliff seem to have gone under as their location was ideal. I then went to see a nice chap in New Romney who had some great classic stuff in his workshop but he wanted to do a complete restoration strip and shot blast the shell etc etc which I can't afford and the car doesn't really warrant!!
I then went to another recommended bodyshop in Ashford, nice guys complimentary about the car and how solid it is but they had too much accident damage/repair work to want to take on a full respray.
I will PM you Redwing re your friend but also had a suggestion yesterday from a contact about an "old style" place near Sevenoaks that I'll check out.
I can't beleive how difficult this has been... it seems that there are a lot of people interested in insurance jobs, minor repairs or concours restorations but what I want is just to make an old car look tidy - I had half a mind just to run it around as a rolling restoration.....

That is why I recommended Eddie in Swanley, he's just repainted an MX5 roof for the wife's MX5 & made a fantastic job & quoted £1000 for a complete respray on it in the same colour.

Ye gods. Are they still there...on the Delce.

The question is not a reference to their abilities but more that I used them in my late teens and that was 40 years ago eek

Yep. Pete's still there but son Wayne does a lot of the spraying now - no bad thing, apparently Chip Foose head hunted him and asked him to go work for him in the US. He declined.
