Eastbourne from Kent - best route?

Hi folks,
Commuting to Eastbourne from NW Kent next week, any ideas on the quickest, least congested route down. Most common route finder result is either the Tunbridge Wells A228/A21/A267/A22 route or through Maidstone/B2162/A271/A259.
Cheers
Your second sequence makes no sense. There is no connction between these 3 roads. There are whole chunks missing. Also the A271 runs east to west between Battle and the A22 near Horsebridge. The A259 is the coast road.Commuting to Eastbourne from NW Kent next week, any ideas on the quickest, least congested route down. I assume you meant B2162/A21/A2100/A271/A295. The A21 south of the Lamberhurst bypass can be a pain if you get stuck behind a truck. Overtaking opportunities are not very plentiful. An alternative would be B2162 to Lamberhurst, then B2100 to the A267 at Mark Cross.
The potential problem with the first route is where to go once you reach the end of the A228 at Pembury. The A21 takes you in the wrong direction. The direct route to the A267 is the A264 towards Tunbridge Wells and then through Hawkenbury. Depending on the time of day, the A264 can get very congested. If Hall's Hole Road is open (closed southbound due to road works last time I was down there) it is worth a punt as it avoids the traffic lights at the Calverley Road crossroads.

Avoid the A21 duel carriageway near the Tonbridge industrial estate (can't remember the junction) but its where it narrows done to one lane. All around there are roadworks seriously slowing down traffic. It's even worse at peak times.
Neither route goes near that bit.Yeah, I didn't put the full road sequences down.
I've been doing the A228/B2161/B2160/A21/B2100/A267 at Mark Cross, basically to avoid TW. I still got stuck in traffic around King's Hill on the A228, but I can't see any way round that.
Looking at the map, I think I've found a much easier cut around TW without going into the countryside.
What about coming off the A264 before the A21 (this bit was rammed last time I did and the main hold-up) down Pembury High St, little lane called Comford Lane/Hall's Hole Road/Forest Rd/A267?

B2161? It lost that number quite some time ago. The road which crosses the A228 at the Five Oak Green roundabout is the B2017 - http://www.sabre-roads.org.uk/wiki/index.php?title...I've been doing the A228/B2161/B2160/A21/B2100/A267 at Mark Cross, basically to avoid TW. That could work. There are two options. What about coming off the A264 before the A21 (this bit was rammed last time I did and the main hold-up) down Pembury High St, little lane called Comford Lane/Hall's Hole Road/Forest Rd/A267?
Stay on the A228 and turn left at the lights here, then right here.
Or
Turn left here, right at the lights here, then left here.
Worth a punt. If it doesn't pan out, you can always go back to the route you're currently using.

Yep that's the small lane I looked at. I'll give it a try tomorrow, thanks.Stay on the A228 and turn left at the lights here, then right here.

Just "driven" it on streetview - looks very, very narrow! Still, should be quicker and less stressful than queuing traffic.
