Hi guys,

I'm getting married in three weeks near Ashford. I live in London so this isn't really my local area.
As is typical of me, I have left several of my duties until now, been watching too much Don't Tell the Bride and fancied trying it in three weeks myself!!

We are getting married and having our reception at Bilsington Priory Estate near Ashford. I have sorted all guest transport and don't need any for me and wifey to get to the venue. I am basically looking for a lift for myself and my wife-to-be to get to Hythe at the end of the night. I essentially want a taxi, but don't want it to be a taxi if that makes sense.

I can't afford to pay a full day wedding service rate but would like a 'special' car, whether that's special as in old or special as in expensive - a Maybcah etc. My missus just wants it to be something that isn't a minicab and I gather her dress has a bit of a train so there needs to be some room.

I have spoken to a few - anyone with vintage cars doesn't want to drive them at that time of night, fair enough, and any London based chaufeur type companies are looking for a full day rate or near enough.

Sorry, this is a long post for such a simple question - does anybody know of someone in Kent, or someone who includes Ashford area, who can offer a one way trip in something like a modern Roller, a Maybach etc who will charge us a taxi sort of price plus a wedding tax??

Hope this makes sense, had a few drinks this afternoon.

Cheers,
Rob

Might be a little short of the mark, but maybe worth a try - company called Apollo. There do executive driving; airports and the like. They tend to be the very top end though. Ive always had top end Mercs etc.

Might be worth a call at least to see if they have something in the fleet you might consider.

Good luck

I wonder if your journey would be considered a wedding journey and as such you can use an unlicensed car.

i was thinking that! perhaps someone on her with a nice bit of metal could do the guy a turn for fuel and beer tokens, i'd do it but an alfa 164 is probably not up his street, it'll get you there in 5 minutes tho.

haha, a 164 would be fine by me but the missus has bigger ideas!! wink

I had thought about putting out a call to any willing and able PHers but just wanted to see if there was any other options first. I'll check those guys out thanks The Edge.

I'd be happy in anything myself but trying to get something a bit more non-minicab for her indoors.

Beeline Taxis in Sevenoaks have a guy who uses a nice new Jag XJ LWB in black. Might be worth trying them to see if he's available and willing?
