Apparently, from 28th June (Thursday week), the average speed cameras that cover the QE2 Bridge will be live, and enforcing the 50mph speed limit.

This from Essex Trafpol.

I know most days 50mph would be a blessing, but still - be careful!

Police State nobody capable of making decisions as to what is safe..........reulations for everything

The next generation will loose the capacity of thought because there will be no decisions to take---MAD

What's worrying is that the cameras have been there for so long, and when the traffic is flowing nicely, it seems to have a natural speed of 60-70mph.

I sense a lot of pissed off people in the next month...

I'm sure they'll say it's being introduced for your safety in the busy (ie. gridlocked) period of the Olympics.

The fact that it'll remain afterwards when they start jacking the price up too... rolleyes

I heard something that the tolls were being abolished, and that they are going to make the M25 a toll road very much like paying to use the City of London. And this was FOR the Olympics!!

Anyone else heard this!

Funny, I always thought it was called the Dartford Crossing. Is this some sort of underhand annexing activity by the Essex bretheren?

Depends what side you're from.

Does anyone know if there are camera's in the tunnels?

No.
But they are now active on the Kent side right up to the booths according to this source.

Cheers, that's handy to know.

I was thinking of organising a mini tunnel run so it's quite handy to know that there are none in the actual tunnels biggrin
