Hi all - I'm in Colchester (so one extreme of this PH region) and I'm looking for an auto electrician of the mobile variety who fancies a bit of 'Saturday work' wink

Essentially, last year's track car now has a new friend (an almost identical model) and I'm planning on making one awesome car out of two good ones.

The thing is, the new one has lots of electric gizmos fitted which need (properly) removing (the previous one was a nice boring base model).

The car is an E36 BMW. Things to be removed are:
- Retro-fitted third party immobiliser/central locking system whatsit
- Digital climate control controller thingie
- 18-button OBC (which was retro-fitted by previous owner; need to ensure the sensor end of the system is happily tidied)
- HID upgrade (nasty chaviness)

Possibly some other wiring jobs like re-routing the wiring for the aux fan to a dash switch (currently wired into the ignition) and fitting an MSA-compliant electrical kill switch, but we'll have to see how much cash we've burnt before that point.

Obviously, the car will be stripped of interior gubbins, so access to the wiring shouldn't be too bad.

Any PHers up for the challenge? Or who have (competent!) mates who might be?

Hi V8mate,

Not sure if they are mobile but T&M auto-electricians at Whitehall Industrial Estate are very good.

Yep - they are very good and have used them before.

Just looking to minimise the bill, as it's just a 'hobby car'. And if I'm around when it's being done, it's easier to agree shortcuts, new ideas, quick fixes etc.
