Karting tracks in Essex... Good Ones, Ones to avoid etc. It needs to be good for a mixed aged group. I am thinking of Rayleigh, as it's the closest.

Also anybody know any great places to go in the area that cater for stag groups.

Hi Richard

I had my stag do at Rye House. www.deavinsons.co.uk/
We did the "Karting Combo" session which included: -

1. 15mins practice and 20mins race on a GT2 320cc 4 stroke
2. Test laps on a works replica 2 stroke kart 20hp
3. Then to finish, test laps on a Rotax Max 2 stroke racing kart 30hp. This pulls your head back when you floor it!! 70mph ish down the back straight

Mornings run from 10am - 1pm
Afternoons run from 2pm - 5pm

I had a great weekend. Friday afternoon doing the karting, Saturday paint ball and then comedy club in the evening.
I would get married again just for a repeat of this weekend!!(and the honeymoon night)

The Karting Centre at Thurrock (Next door to Arena Essex) is pretty good, with a long lap. But I think it is/was quite expensive compared to Rayleigh. Buckmore Park isn't too far away, only about 15mins from the Dartford Crossing.

But Buckmore is in Kent. Cracking track tho' 50/60mph down the hill. (well certainly feels like it)

Thurrock is outside, which IMO is so much better than inside an old bus depot/wharehouse

Plenty to choose from.

Had a karting session for the first time in years last weekend in Wales, thoroughly enjoyed it and planning another session soon.

Let us know how you get on.

Great track and they have also recently finished the club house which is very nice.

I have actually got a 47 second lap in a thunder kart and 46.3 in a Club100 100cc TKM

Thats rite Zeetec, you have seen the Noble and compared to a twin max Kart its pretty slow of the mark,Let me know when your in the station and i will drop you some pics in.Buy the way Lewis Hamilton took the twin max around Rye House in 32secs,if you dont know who lewis is well your probabaly see him drive for Maclaran in the next few years.
