Hi.

I’m starting planning for My Stagg do in April. I know the best man should be doing this but well, he isn’t.. So..

My brief plan is to head down to Bayford meadows go-karting track (Sittingbourne, Kent) on a Friday. Race each other round their superb looking track in twin engined go-karts. Then move onto another local ish town for Comedy, food, drink and a reet good laugh.

But where should we go? I’ve never been to the area so I know nothing about where to go for good nightlife, clubbing, and you know its going to happen.. strippers!

Any suggestions welcome, someone suggested Romford, good idea? Or should we head into Essex?

Were from Yorkshire and don’t mind a bit of travel from the kart track to a another place for night life. Were planning to stay over fri and sat night too, in the same place..

Suggestions, ideas very welcome smile

For the love of mercy, do not travel to Romford. You'll get your head stoved in - the place is properly mental.

Why would you go to Sittingbourne for a stag do if you're from Yorkshire??

I'd go into Maidstone though. Good bars and at least one place for 'bad things'.

Well the kart track looks good, and we've never been before.. so why not?

I thought Maidstone early on tbh, so its good is it? Better than anywhere in Essex?

Why not try Buckmore Park for the Karting. The circuit where Button and Hamilton honed their karting skills!

Bayford meadows is a good track, but Buckmore Park is an international track, very famous, and a million times better (but similar price).

Go there smile

And that is at the top of the A229, and at the bottom of the A229 is Maidstone which has a very good town centre for clubbing, and I highly recommend Players Gentleman's Club; £5 entry, £20/dance, full nude, and drinks are really quite reasonably priced.

There's even a travelodge smack bang in the middle of maidstone.

Yeah Buckmore does look very good smile I think I'd read some bad reviews about the place which swayed me towards Bayford tbh. But you cant believe everything you read on the internet..

The Hamilton/Button bit sounds good too driving

So if we head to maidstone, is the 'players' area of town where the bars are too? Recommendations welcome for good bars and places to eat too smile

and Herbert learned his craft there biggrin

Anyway - yes, it's all in the same place, players, the bars etc, all a 30second walk from the travelodge.

click this; http://g.co/maps/wxx5p

the bars go from where it says Barclays Bank (Players is opposite that) all the way up to Muggleton Inn, then down the hill to Strawberry Moons (club) and opposite that is Roadhouse which is open until 4.

Go anywhere near that area on a Friday or Saturday night and you can't go wrong - just ask people where they're going etc smile

The travelodge is where st peter's street joins buckland road, but it's not shown on there

Buckmore park is the dog's nuts.

I've raced there a number of times and it's by far the best karting track I have ever raced on.

Great thing about Buckmore Park is that it is on the side of a hill, and starting from the top going downhill is incredible, all outside and run on a very professional basis.

Book it you won't be dissapointed. smokinbiggrin and enjoy the Stag Night. beerdrink

I agree, have been to Buckmore Park twice and really enjoyed the racing. More interesting than most flat circuits. The only problem is that those of us that are a little on the heavier side do notice the poor power to weight ratio climbing back up the hill (that was my excuse anyway).

Buckmore is a great track - I've been heaps of times and it's excellent - miles better than Bayford Meadows.

Don't miss mumu's in Maidstone (well, I like it anyway - I have a fond memory of a jagermeister evening there for a footy do).

There's a paintball/quadbiking type place about 15minute drive from Buckmore (in sittingbourne), that the sort of thing you're after?

Not really tbh, we'll have done some activity on friday with the karting so perhaps sat could be a little more chilled (and cheap). I just looked at the Mclaren factory, but it seems tours are a no-go unless you have an insider frown

Brands isn't too far, but there doesn't look to be anything on that weekend. (Which is now the 13th-15th of April btw)

Any other car factory near by? Theme park maybe.. Or better ideas biggrin

Thorpe Park is a 1 hour drive from Maidstone?

Alternatively a train up to London takes only 45mins, you could do the big london thing?

My choice would be to catch the Eurostar at Ebsfleet and go to Paris or Brussels for the night, or go to London.
This is a recommendation from a Yorkshire man who's lived in Kent for 10 years.

How about a couple of hours in diggerland??

It's close by and a bit of chilled-out fun, and appeals to petrolheads too!!

OK, it's aimed at kids but...

Eurotunnel is 30 minutes away.

Get yourself over to France and Belgium for cheap food/wine/cigarettes for the day.

You can do a round trip in 5 or 6 hours from Maidstone.
