Do you commute via Stansted Express or Elsenham station ?

I need some help. Thinking of buying a house near Thaxted that means I need to drive to ether Stansted airport of Elsenham to get my commuter train to London.

Trying to pick which one is best (if either are in any way viable) and people who actually do it could give me valuable advice.

Also local pub recommendations of course

I used to use the Stansted Express into Liverpool street.

Usually a very good, reliable and fast service.

The Stansted express route has just had new trains introduced, there is also a programme underway to increase the length of trains running from 8-12 cars which means more seats available, this will be completed very soon.
If you are going to check train and journey times there is a new time table as from Sunday.

Think you will find parking at Stansted Airport will be very expensive as you would have to park in the Airports short stay carpark.

The Stansted Express doesnt call at Elsenham so you would have to use the slightly slower Cambridge to Liverpool street trains. Your best bet would probably be Stansted Mountfitchet.

Have a look at Newport, nice village and has its own station.

Also unlike Thaxted, it doesn't get invaded by Morris dancers, Roundheads & Cavaliers at various times of the year.

I used to take it either from Stansted directly or Bishops Stortford. I've never taken it from Thaxted
