As per title, are there any PH'ers in Ashford?

I moved here last year for work, and my job has lots of married people who live scattered across Kent, so going for a beer after work is nigh-on impossible without planning well ahead.

My one drinking buddy has left the company so I'm quite the Billy No Mates at the moment, and the missus isn't into cars so I can't talk to her about flanges, gaskits and computer games over a pint in the pub!

I'm not, but looking into moving to Ashford (or ideally villages surrounding) in a few years.

As a newbie to the area - how do you find it?

It doesn't seem a bad town, it has it's rough areas as all towns do, but there's plenty of shopping oppotunities here, fast rail link to London, and close to the beaches.

So you a local then FurballS2000?

The Kent Diner at the Bybrook Garden Centre holds regular car meets, cook great burgers and sell booze!

Might be worth a look, especially third saturdays of the month when the Hot-Rodders / Yank cars meet up.
You can usually look at some V8 goodness and talk camshafts and pistons to someone then!

I was just at that garden centre the other day, I'll keep an eye out for the yank-tank meetings, I love proper muscle cars.

Snowen250, a meet sounds good, probably best to time it on the same day as one of the meets at the American Diner next to Bybrook garden centre; I can let you know when I'm heading over there if that's of use to you?

The meets are better in the summer, when it's warmer, dryer and the evenings lighter, although the last Yank / Rodders meet a couple of weekends ago had quite a good turnout.

But it's worth going for the burgers alone! yum

I think when the last Kent run was organised that was the end point after an early morning hoon. So if, like me, you're not good at early starts, you could meet up at the end of the next one.

Kent Car Club had a meet at French Connection on Sunday evening. If you're interested, I can let you know when the next one is organised.

I live in Kennington, moved from Tunbridge Wells 2 years ago. I have heard of the car meets at the American diner but haven't attended yet. I really like the area, people are far nicer than Tunbridge Wells. The high speed rail link to London is fantastic too! Can't see me ever moving!
