New to Essex

So I've recently moved from Derby to Essex for a job, and having been here for 4 weeks I'm starting to get bored. Whilst my collegaues are all really nice, they are a fair bit older than me and tend not to do much in the evenings. So what is there to do round here (I'm living in Shenfield at the moment) and do PHers meet quite regularly?

I'm going to try and make it to the September 15th meet, but flying back from Germany that day so not too sure if I'll be back in time.

Slight thread hijack in that I am not new to area but after a few years absence have finally gotten back in to some nice wheels, so am up for some evening drives if there are informal boats, besides the planned ones mentioned on these pages. Not quite Essex (am in Enfield) but not too far away. Matt
