Hello again to Kent Lotus owners & my dream car
Discussion
I've not had a Lotus for a few years now, having originally owned a very early Elise S2. I missed the Lotus, and always knew I'd come back to the marque.
Anyway my dream Lotus was an S1 Exige with Honda engine & supercharger and chargecooling, so it took a while to find. It's got 350bhp with lots of race upgrades and carbon fibre parts. Approaching 500bhp/ton.
To put it into context, it's much quicker than the Michellotto race engined F40 I drove a few years ago, and certainly has more traction and grip.
It's the actual car reviewed by PPP magazine, where they compared it to a 700bhp Skyline, and said it was superior
I hope to meet up with members of the Kent group soon, and will be at Brands on Tuesday evening, so anyone here who is going, please say hello
Hopefully these pics will show up:

Furballs, thanks
Having said that, it probably had 200bhp too much yesterday at Brands. Very very slippy on those 888 tyres in yesterday's conditions

That is lovely! And the engine setup I want myself. Looks very very purposeful.
Bet its a bit of a handy weapon where ever you use it.
Thanks, yes it was the exact engine setup I was looking for too. Reliable, powerful and with a linear power delivery that suits these lightweight cars.Bet its a bit of a handy weapon where ever you use it.

I can imagine it was like ice racing rather than nice and grippy! Can imagine it is an absolute hoot around the Indy track, and would think it would be even better around the gp with the decent amount of shove it has. Must get myself up there soon, its only 30 mins up the roadHaving said that, it probably had 200bhp too much yesterday at Brands. Very very slippy on those 888 tyres in yesterday's conditions
My plan is to get a very similar set up in the vx in a few years time, although most people just supercharge the engine without doing swaps.

That's a pretty accurate description Grip was just very variable with dry patches and wet bits, which actually felt greasy in parts. My plan is to get a very similar set up in the vx in a few years time, although most people just supercharge the engine without doing swaps.
I like Brands as it's so local (14 miles, about 20 mins) that I can take a half day off to attend an evening track day.
It is a great mod to do, but pretty expensive. I guess you get what you pay for. I was lucky to find a car with it already done. You'll like it for sure if you do it to your VX

Some really interesting exotics on track with me, including two F1 cars and a Pagani Zonda F
This year's footage has yet to be edited

That is fking awesome. I take it there was not a noise limit that day then with the F1 cars! I would love to do Brands but the noise limits are always too stringent to get the Griff on.
Thanks Glad you enjoyed it.Yes indeed, it was a special event day and the noise levels were "adjusted". Best track day I have ever done.
