Route (inc pub) Swanley to Ashford
Discussion
Hi all,
I'm getting married in September and will be driving a hired E-Type from my home near Swanley to the venue in Willeborough near Ashford with my best man.
My plan is to take a semi-rural route down if possible, stopping at a nice country pub that is within 30 minutes of Willeborough for a quick nerve-steadier before handing the keys to my best man to drive me the rest of the way.
I obviously need a fairly quick route (I don't think I can get away with being late!), but don't want to do the whole journey in an E-Type Roadster on the motorway.
Any thoughts of either a route or a nice pub would be very much appreciated.
Many thanks in advance

I would go via West Kingsdown, follow the road to the M20/M26 roundabout, go under the motorway and follow the road to West Malling, then onto Aylesford. Join the M20 at Aylesford, come off at Leeds Castle, stop off at the Ringlestone Arms, a lovely little pub set in the hamlet of Ringlestone, then on from there.

There's the... http://www.shepherdneame.co.uk/pub/ulcombe/the-pep... ..near Lenham, my favorite pub.
I would head straight down the M20 (finding out whether the Jag will do the 150mph),onto Eurotunnel and out into Northern France. Then I would meander down country roads stopping in small villages until I reached the South of France. Stop for an overnighter, few Stellas, then back through the Pyrenees, Biarritz and home.
Oh, the wedding, do that another time.
