I know this as I got knicked this afternoon. I'd just like to say that it was pleasure to meet the two policemen concerned. The real human face of policing and now I'm off on a days speed awareness course. Sixty in a fifty so not your worse nightmare and it was a fair cop. Just take it easy down there as they are waiting for you and it's way too easy to be going much faster than fifty. Now what car to take on the driver awareness course?

Sorry to hear you got stopped - glad they were fair. Sadly there are some real muppets driving well in excess of 70 mph down there when conditions aren't safe to do so, and they don't have the ability to drive safely at that speed anyway.

Was it the guys in the 5 series? If so they were down there some time as they turned across the bypass into the railway station drop off and parked up about 12.30pm when I went out that way and had just pulled a 911 cab at about 2.20pm when I came back.

They often have a bike just off the Kings Hill roundabout which must pick up people they're tracking from station or the road bridge.

I beg to differ. 60 mph in a 50 I wouldn't have
expected any action or at worst a few verbals
from the officers concerned.

70 mph in a 50 limit I'd suggest possibly take
further action, but formal action for only 60 in
a 50 sounds excessive.

What's next ? 6 points for 51 in a 50 ?

Yes it was the two guys in the 5 series. Really nice guys, I think they even come on here sometimes. As for getting done at sixty in a fifty........I speed every day and always have done and that is my choice. I am very selective if I ever want to do excessive speed and try and be reasonably responsible with it if that is at all possible. I'm just glad it didn't happen on one of those early morning blast. I took the speed awareness course option so I didn't get ant points. I'm not really sure what that means? Do I have to go out with an instructor or it it just class work?

I would rather they spent time on the second roundabout that's at the start of the road, just after the m20 one. Pretty much every time I go round that some muppet comes across lane 1 into 2.

So what is the limit then?

Is a 30 limit really 40?

What would be next would probably be 3. Not sure where you get 6 points for 1 mile over. 10 mph is fair margin.

That road is a 50 due to the layout when heading down towards the train station.

That's very annoying and dangerous, especially when lorries/vans do it without so much as a glance in the mirror but it's not as easy to get a nick for so the Police will never bother.
