Lotus Elan + 2 - Zetec Spyder
Discussion
Hello, long time lurker here
I brought a Lotus Elan +2 Spyder Zetec back from the UK when we returned here at the end of 2006, intending it to be my 'forever car'
Time moves on though, and while it was practical with a family of 4, it's not so with a family of 5...I am desparately hanging on, but under increasing pressure, if you know what I mean.
Does anyone have any suggestions for the best place to sell it, or is even interested themselves?
I'm in Wellington
Regards
Glenn

Hi
If you've not already come across it, then Classic Car might be a good start - online and magazine. http://www.classiccar.co.nz/
As something quite unique I guess selling via a network of people might be more successful than the open market (trademe etc).
I'd be really interested to see the car, and perhaps even (don't tell the missus) as a potential buyer - what colour is it? I'm another Lotus owner/enthusiast and also in Wellington. My father used to own an original one back in the day so I have a soft spot for them.
Lastly, while you still own the car, myself and Mark are attempting to establish a bit of a Lotus community in the Wellington area. If it's something of interest please drop me an email with your details and I'll be in touch with info. And who knows, one of us may also know someone who's interested in a classic Lotus of their own...
cheers,
Ian

Mark - that instantly doubles the number of Zetec Spyders in the country, so yes, I would very much like to be put in touch, would be great to compare notes. Though I'm a bit sad, I thought my car was unique here!
Thank you for your very kind offer

Glenn
It may not be Zetec powered after all, probably original twincam so yours is still unique to NZ.Thank you for your very kind offer

I might be interested, I'm looking for an "interesting" Lotus soft top. How much are you looking for? Email me if you prefer! Sorry, just re-read your post and realised that "Spyder" refers to the replacement chassis, (stupid of me, I used to live near Wisbech before I shifted to NZ!), not to the body configuration, I confused it with the Christopher Neil cabriolet conversions I brought a Lotus Elan +2 Spyder Zetec back from the UK when we returned here at the end of 2006, intending it to be my 'forever car'
