Forester replacement....
Discussion
Probably getting close to replacing this aeging 4wd wagon thing.
Its a 1998 2.0na manual.
Mechanicaly its OK, tho 10-11L/100kms isnt great for the 'perfomance'.
Interior is woefull, air system, stereo, seats etc.
Love the space/practicality, 4Wd and ride hight without being a full on 4WD.
So probably replacing it with something newish.
So far looking at
Mitsu Outlander 2.4 4Wd
New Forester 2.0 diesel
Mitsu ASX 1.8D sport
Suzuki Grand Vitara of some sort
What else? Hyundai ix35?!?
Not intrested in Rav4 or anything nissan make (quashi etc), eurtopean is likely too much, my mates tiguan is OK but dull/expensive to run.

We've just bought a new Outlander. Looked at Holden Captiva, Hyundai Sante Fe/IX35, Nissan, Puegeot 4007 etc
We had pretty strict requirements about what worked for us and in the end went for the Outlander. My sister works for Mitsi so we got a great deal and they bent over backwards for us.
The things I liked were it's fuel consumption (7.6l per 100km), the Mitsi 5/10 year warranty, 5 star Ancap safety rating, obviously price and more than anything the service received from Mitsubishi Wellington.
If you need some help with the Outlander let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Will have a look at the honda.
CX-7 not convinced , would have to be the 2.3turbo for AWD and it looks a bit toylike in capabilities. Like the looks and like mazdas (had an rx8 for a bit) not convinced it would cope with what light ofroad use I would put it too.
Though same could be said for the ix35 & murano.
Whats the outlander 4Wd lock mode? Proper all round diff lock or central? (not that I have this on the forester!)
Think an outback would be too big for what we need, realy dont need anything larger than the (old)forester but that limits choice somewhat...
