Bought a section approx 1100 square metres. Currently no house on it, but there will be, so looking for something that isn't going to be too much hard work in the meantime! Parents have always had Hondas, which have always seemed reliable enough, and I've no idea what the local brands are like.

Cheers

I don't know about local brands but this http://pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&t... might help.

I think Masport is probably the biggest local brand. A trip to Bunnings or Mitre10 should sort the options. Depending on where it's going to be stored and how close to the beach it is, you probably want an alloy body rather than steel.

The other option of course is to use a contractor for a while rather than waste all that time yourself . . .

I've got one of these beauties:

Self propelled. Cuts through grass like, well, a pretty decent lawnmower. Not cheap, though.

+1 for a lawnmaster. Brought new from Mitre 10 after looking at second hand examples.
Friend has a ride on Cub Cadet which spends more time in the repair shop than cutting grass.

Of course, you need to have a decent V8 mower - not one of those Rotary ones... driving
