Well, the inaugural event was a great success, and even a certain fellow PH'er came along in his awesome Lotus:
And for having one of the most unique cars there he also won one of the four trophies and $70+ prize pack. Are you still sure you don't want that bucket Mike?

I was incredibly happy with the quantity and variety of cars that came along on the day, and will definately be doing it this time next year, but bigger and better (and sunnier!)!
We raised $2,116.30 (with donations still being given to me by people who couldn't make it) which is pretty good considering it ended four hours early cos of rain!
Most of the rest of the cars:
Thats my GTS Skyline at the very front

And I have to say there were some amazing American muscle cars, vettes, mustangs, all in mint condition. I don't know if it a south island thing but I can tell you I'd be hard pressed to find a Dunedin-size or even Christchurch-size city in the US with as many mint condition American muscle cars as there are here.
Oh bugger, if i went trick or treating i'd have some lollies to put in it.
And yeah, i have to agree with you there - not that i've ever been to the states, but Dad has been there since 2005 (assistant manager at a Kmart, drives a '94 Mustang GT convertable) and i think he said something along those lines - that the Mustangs etc over there aren't aalways as nice looking as our ones.
I'm guessing its just because the owners are so passionate about the car that they import it from the States and tidy it all up since its not exactly common to see American cars here.
