Car shipping options
Discussion
I used DCB International. I ended up shipping my car in its own 20 foot container (all up cost with insurance about 7000), but there are many options for shipping including sharing containers that would be much cheaper. Took about 6 weeks, they were spot on with arrival date, and the car arrived with not a scratch on it.

Yeah I can think of a few Lancia parts I'd like that are just too expensive to post. What are you after Terry?
Without ruining the chaps thread, anything for the integrale.Toywrc, that wasn't your personalised plate by any chance? If it was did you sell the integrale? Terry do you know about the Lancia register? www.lanciarnz.com .Yeah it'd be nice to be able to get some bits over, and save on the high shipping cost. I've found Bielstein in Germany good though, shipping isn't too bad, but I want a 16v bonnet for the integrale and they're just stupid money to ship. I don't have a lot for the integrale but have a few Beta coupe bits left over, not much I don't think, most of it went when I sold the car, but thought if you had one you could use them.

nope. thats not me. ill keep you guys posted if i ship the car over. i'm still working out if the car passes frontal, safety and emissions laws here in NZ. its a 2001 Corolla SR. anyone knows if it does?Edited by Fulvisti on Saturday 17th April 00:04
A friend of mine at work imports cars from Japan and he has told me in the past that it can be real hit and miss, for example, a 2001 model x may pass, but a 2003 of the same model may not, I'll ask him on Wednesday when he's back at work he may know off the top of his head, otherwise you'll need to contact the New Zealand Transport Agency. But to be honest, you'll pick up a 2001 Corolla for not a lot more than shipping and compliance costs. Or maybe something you like better. The range of Japanese cars in NZ is pretty good, and they're not expensive. Unless this is a project car you've spent lots on, you're probably better off buying one here.

Emissions might be a problem - depends on when the model was introduced. Try and get hold of the car's "EC Certificate of Conformity" from Toyota UK and take it to one of the entry certifiers (VTNZ, VINZ, AA etc). uncinqsix said:

theres an "e6*95/54*0043" EC directive stamped on the plate. Thats the same directive stamped on the earlier non-vvti engines so i dont think its for emissions as the 2001 facelift model now has the vvti engine fitted.
If it's rare enough you could look into special interest rego:

yeah... according to here http://www.vcacarfueldata.org.uk/search/usedcar/ve... the car complies with Euro3 emissions which is a bit of a relief.

e6*95/54*0043 is quite an old approval - it won't prove frontal impact compliance (like a later one would), and the car might not even have been certified to it (as it wasn't required to be). This might well be a problem. anyone knows any email or contact for Toyota UK? ill try to get hold of that COC.

Get in touch with Toyota UK customer services and ask to be put in touch with their homologation department.

Ohhhhh 7K ? My container came in under 4K , but sorry I cant offer this to anyone else as its a one off Company rate. Better off ringing around like everyone else and see who is currently competitive. Mike your not getting my Tubi Exhaust are you?? Biotch !Edited by mikeS350 on Friday 16th April 12:57
I shipped with autocarshippers (shipit) UK for 1600 UKP. The service was excellent. However I delivered the car with the expectation of using an external insurance service as thier insurance didn't cover anything, but cost twice the local full cover. Once I informed them I had external insurance they wanted a waiver signed by my insurance company, which was never going to happen. As such I was forced to ship my Cerbera over without insurance. Not a situation I ever wish to be in again. I'd recommend you investigate insurance with potential shippers well before you deliver the vehicle.
