Just got a new set of wheels for my Peugeot. Only thing is theyre currently gold. I like the gold and would normally keep them that way but I'm reluctant on a blue car as its kinda a Subaru trademark. Leaning towards getting them powdercoated Gunmetal or similar. Thoughts?

Wasnt there a blue Renault Clio Williams with gold wheels at one stage? A Pug is probably close enough to that to get away with it.

As long as you don't go putting a Subaru bonnet scoop or anything on it anyway!

i dont think thhey would look too bad with some low profile tyres on there, but agree they would look better if silver or grey.

Looking most likely Ill be going Gunmetal.

Plus although the factory finish is pretty good theyll be easier to keep perfect if I recoat them.

Tyre size will be 195/45/15

Part of having a small car originally designed for 13" wheels (though mine are factory 14). Original tyre size is 185/55/14 so 195/45/15 is only 0.5% out. Not gonna be alot of choice in that size I'd imagine but I havnt tried yet.

Looking good Paul. The gold actually doesn't look too bad... but I agree, gunmetal will look far superior.

The wheels on my old Elise were originally gold (on a silver car... yuck!) but were meant to be gunmetal. The original owner was pissed off but left them like it. Second owner painted them silver, which I kept.... but when the third (and original) owner got it back he finally painted them the gunmetal he always wanted in the first place.... looks the dog's danglies.
