Hi there I am putting together another PH run. The one we did end of last year was a wee ripper, so after talking to a few people over the last week I have come up with Sunday 11th April. I know this date does not suit everyone, but it is four weeks away, so put it in your diarys now and in the mean time I will suss out some fun roads and a destination.
Feel free to post up ideas etc smile

Hi Brendon thank you so much, yes Jim is away overseas so would be grand if you can help round up the masses. Emails are starting to come in so should be another great little hoon. The majority so far are keen on some more hoonage out south, but will def be exploring all options over next two weeks seeing what else is on offer out there. Theres loads to choose from! Will be in touch,
K

If we're going to head up north then how about up the east coast stopping at my restaurant in Waipu Cove for lunch? Road is pretty nice once off SH1 and the food is top notch.

idea Anyone fancy going to Kaeo, I can look in on a job there. NOT laugh

Right now anywhere from Puhoi to the Bryderwyns is road work country along most of SH1. Both sides of Warkworth are particularly bad. At at some point you'd have to drive part of SH1 unless you go SH16 -> Wellsford -> Mangawhai (via Waiteitei/Te Arai).

Did a Brynderwyns to Auckland and back on SH1 yesterday and it's actually about the best it's been for road surface in a while. Still quite a bit of 50kph zones but now sealed and no "waiting to be waved through one lane" stuff as the people in orange are doing clever stuff to the edges. Even the middle of Warkworth stretch, while still complete chaos, is sealed.
Will it be like that next week or the week after? Wouldn't bet on it.

Update! I had a bit of a get together with some peeps last night and google mapped every possible fun road combination of interest north and south. The general thumbs up was to include something south east again given that fact theres loads more options and some cool destinations worth checking out. This will include coastal touring, hill climbs, twisties and straights wink We are going to meet central again in Greenlane, seems fair for everyone and will do a pre meet up for the northern group to convoy in and meet us. Southerns can get together and convoy in too.

I was also thinking we can do another run next month, less Ks just a nice hoon up to Ian's restaurant for brunch smile I think that would be fab. Perhaps ill work in with the TVR club on that one to get numbers.

I should be ok for April 11th. Just got back from the restaurant today. Not much in the way of road works - only one section in the Dome Valley that I noticed. Turning off just after Warkworth and you're into a great mix of flowing and tight stuff all the way through to Waipu Cove.

Hey there, I just sent you mail to your nvizion email account if thats still a goodun.

Yes we are on track and fingers crossed for grand weather. Lead out car will be again the Black Golf Gti, he was awesome last year and kept everyone in tow and those that followed and read their instructions didnt get lost! wink Invitation has been opened up to Club Lotus too so there may be one of two from there as well. I have no idea of numbers coming from that lot, but I guess we will have well over 20 cars all up which will make a great little turn out like last year.

At the destination theres a Cafe and or Pub for lunch so people will need to bring some extra cash - I am afraid it will be first in first serve because of unknown numbers from CLNZ - although Cafe owner will be warned smile Or bring your own refreshments too. All good and easy smile

It was such a fun day in Sept I am looking forward the April event, so count me in.

BTW...some may have noted that GOPLAY is up for sale so if its gone, I will be there in something else interesting.

Cheers

Looking dodgy at the moment. Having spend the summer undoing the wear and tear of track days I just discovered at some point the steering column has collapsed. By the time a new one arrives from the UK and is fitted a chunk of April will have disappeared.
