Parking in Wellington

I am heading down to Wellington in a few weeks time, and I will be staying with a friend who boards at the university. There is no parking available there, so does anyone know of somewhere I can leave the car overnight? Preferably close to University, and I am not worried about security so much (on street is fine). I would appreciate any advice, since I do not know Wellington all that well, and a Google search has not shown up many useful links.

There should be plenty of on street parking around the uni, just head on the non city side of the uni. Watch for resident parking as you obviously wont have the right sticker.

street parking is free after six in the city centre. just watch out for permit parking zones as mentioned above.
