Ended up in Hanmer Springs Friday lunchtime (Friday 13th), and parked outside the estate agents was a very nice TVR with the rego TVR5. Anybody know who it belongs to? Looks like a Christchurch car. Personally I would prefer it in British Racing Green rather than the beigy colour, but hey I wouldn't say no.

My fav colour for TVRs is the dark blue that a number of Griffith's come in. BRG is OK but I think there are better colours for a TVR

TVR5 is that gorgeous pearlescent white one isn't it? I think I've seen it before... last saw it many many years ago but it was in SUCH nice condition back then.

Strange... I'm petty sure it never used to be yellow (provided it's the one I'm thinking of)... There's a Gold one down there somewhere (but it's "Tiger Gold", which is like a bronze/copper colour)... only other Yellow one I know of is Geoff and Denise Kelly's one in Hawke's Bay.

carjam says it's yellow, but it is more of an off white. Nothing really wrong with it, but a dark blue or green would suit it more.......whatever the colour I wouldn't say no.

No. plate was from a Christchurch dealer

Well if it's the same one I'm thinking of it's actually a pearlescent white that flip flops from a clean apine white with a yellow and blue pearl in it.... looked brilliant in the sunshine smile

I guess NZTA doesn't have that many characters in the "Colour:" field.

Have not seen this car. But a yellow griff was imported 6 months ago and fixed so it must be that one. Will track him down. Cheers

Yeah, saw that car in Fast Forward many years ago. Got to exchanging many an email with the owner in Wellington. He sold it a few years back for a bargain price (< $50k). It's barely run-in and is a nice spec'. I love Griffs and Chimearas in anything other than BRG or dark blue. Well over half the cars produced must have been brg with tan hide or blue with magnolia. Hell, even I owned a blue Chimaera with mag hide!

Of course, silver is the best colour for these cars! wink

Actually, looking at the fact that car has been on 'TVR5' since '97 it can't be the car I was thinking of.
