I need to send some parcels from here in the UK to a client in the Bay of Islands.

Any suggestions for good people to use?

A few that have come up:

intercargo
interparcel
fast lane international.

any thoughts? I might down in NZ later in the year, as we do a lot of business with NZ, so might be saying hello!

Never heard of any of those names here so probably they will have it delivered at this end by one of the local courier companies - could be fedex, courierpost, fastway... there are quite a few with different delivery networks. In and around larger towns like Paihia or Kerikeri it probably doesn't matter much who you use, but if your client is somewhere more remote then I'd suggest you ask them which local courier company gives them the best service and try to find a UK shipper that uses them.

Depends on the size of the parcel and the value but for less that 20kg the Post Office in the UK's Parcel Post with track and trace might be the best option.
Usually it's only if you have an account with a worldwide courier company is it cheaper.
Our in the sticks if you are RD courier parcels either come via NZ Post Courier or you get a ring to collect from the local drop point.

Er, Royal "Fail" normally manage to get things there. Any reason you haven't considered them?

I will have a look at Royal Mail, but it needs to get there reasonably quickly, so hence looking at a courier. There are cheap ones, but DHL Air Express seems to be there or thereabouts.

DHL own half of CourierPost (NZ Post own the other half) so I expect that's who would be doing the delivery at this end. If you send it through Royal Mail it will be delivered either by CourierPost or the RD contractor if your customer's rural.

My dear old Mum uses Royal Mail to airmail parcels for my kids. The quickest one was here in less than 4 days which ain't bad. Haven't had one go missing yet.
