Hi there all, was suggested by Kylie Adams to sign up to Piston Heads forum and check out N.Z section.
So here i am, have just recently purchased 2000 Lotus Esprit V8 GT and am slowly getting up with play on info and sights to visit etc to school myself on the Esprit and other supercars alike, thanks to Kylie for pointing me in right directions and for all help so far much appreciated!!

Keen to hear from any one in ChCh region with either an Esprit of exotic car that may want to get out for cruise sometime.

Welcome aboard wavey

As you're already in the S.I. I can highly recommend this event to try out all three S.I. tracks.

PlayDay PlayWeekdriving

I'll be heading down to give it a crack and Tony (who is one of the PlayDay organizers) has an Esprit.

. . . I hesitate to say exactly which model as someone else here will rip me a new one when I describe it incorrectly . . . although it is yellow . . . but even that probably isn't the right name for the colour. hehe

If its a turbo Forestor its probably well capable... if its fast who cares about exotic really, my car crazes are very broad, nearly bought a factory 22B WRX once, wish i had of now, rather desirable.

Tony is based in Taupo and is a really nice guy.

They will be letting people buy individual trackdays during that week IF there are any spaces left, but priority will go to those booking for the whole week. There will be a discounted price for individual days.

If you're thinking about it I'd suggest emailing ASAP to register your interest and find out the cut-off dates.

There is no need to kill your car wink For most of us it will be our first times on these particular tracks so we'll be taking it reasonably easy to begin with. There is a basic 'streaming' for the cars and if you want to run with the slower cars that's perfectly OK. Many people with 'more sensitive cars' only tend to run a half day as they've had their fun and spend the rest of the day watching, taking photos, chatting . . . and blagging pax rides in the cars that are still running hehe

Edit: Braindead - Sorry Tony is in Taupo not Rotorua

Nah its a NA model, bought to run and run and not cost a penny, also wanted a manual box (with the lo ratio) and non of the turbo's (short of the sti) are. It does fine for what it gets abused for (surf trips, ski fields etc). Plan is to get a fun car to run along side but that hasnt happened yet (currently have a legacy 2.0na too but that goes in march).

cloud9 Fun roads over the Port Hills, not driven them in a long time. Every time I'm in Chch I seem to be in a rush on the way somewhere else.

I could go a legacy, the one we have atm is a nice drive, not sure of a GTB on the ski field roads on good days tho!

Definaly a possibility with the mx5, wanted one for ages, the one I test drove for a mate (and was superb) he shifted on recently without even asking me!

Same, always passing through. I think I was only a spring chicken last time I went there, sadly I think I would have to get the map out to even find it confused !
