Having a Christmas BBQ at my place (Pukekohe) on Saturday the 13th of December. BBQ during the afternoon and Poker in the evening. Other halfs welcome, I have a large HD home theater system to keep the non-poker players entertained if required.

George this is your opportunity to get even after your humiliation last time round! Looking forward to catching up with everyone before the silly season starts.

I might be keen, although not a Poker fan you would have to prop me up with a glass of red in front of the big screen smile

I'll be there, as will Brend.... and I didn't embarrass myself last time, I thought I held up rather well.. jsut towards the end I was getting tired so I started getting cavalier... I'll bring some redbull next time so I can keep emptying your wallet into the wee small hours.... rest assured any money I take from you will be reinvested into the Exige smile

Sounds like an excellent plan. How much do I need to 'donate' to the table?

"No. Three spades and two clubs is not a black flush"hehe

The humble match stick has suffered over the years from the effects of inflation. $20 is the entry price these days.

Dean will be there as well, plus a couple of local friends so should be a decent pot.

Kylie, I have Bullitt on Blu-ray, haven't watched it myself yet but apparently it scrubbed up pretty well for high def. But I'd probably recommend something more recent if you want to enjoy the full power of high def. Got a few hundred DVD's and a reasonable selection of Blu-ray high def stuff to choose from.

Texas hold 'em. Same as played on the telly. Two cards dealt to all players the next three are face up then two more face up one at a time. Best hand out of the seven cards wins, although bluffing plays a big part. Very easy to pickup and gets pretty exciting at times.

I'll take care of feeding you, but if you want to bring something let me know. I would ask that you bring enough drinks to keep you going. Staying the night is no problem and will be insisted upon if I feel you've had to much to drink. A lack of spare bedrooms will mean couches in some cases.

Just a reminder about this Saturday. Kick off at around 4pm till late.

Good turn out expected, just a reminder to bring your own drink. Food not essential although if you want to bring a side dish you're more than welcome.

Address is 8 Valley side way, Pukekohe. If you haven't already contacted me to say you're coming then let me know on this thread.

Thanks very much for organizing the BBQ and poker evening Ian, I had a great time. smile Leaving with more $$$ than I started with probably helped wink

As I'm in a gambling mood, I'll bet George $5.00 that he won't wear that t-shirt to Christmas dinner with his parents. hehe

Wow.... what a night! Graham, Kylie, you two have just completely knocked the wind out of me today (in a good way!). What you both have conspired to do (very sneakily too I might add!) is the sort of thing that'll leave an eternally happy memory as its legacy. I am truly blessed. I have updated my "project" thread over in the Elise/Exige/340R/Europa forums and you all should head over for a looksee.

As for the rest of the evening, Ian, thanks mate, as always you're a great host and pulling together so many of my friends was a recipe for a very enjoyable night even if I did get totally cleaned out at the poker table... I can see I'm going to have to be far more analytical about my approach next time around, although after being sprung with such a surprise, my head wasn't as poker-focussed as it might have otherwise been!

Richard and Dean, was great to see you both again as well. I don't see any of you nearly enough these days with my crazy work hours and the car eating up the few each week I've got free! Rest assured she WILL be back on the road BEFORE winter and I sincerely hope you'll all be there to witness me pulling the pin on the K-series grenade! wink

Thanks for the great evening everyone. Special thanks to those who did the dishes! Graham and Kylie for leaving George virtually speechless - possibly contributing to his sad demise on the Poker table.

I didn't get to bed till 3am, Dean and Richard had bailed by the time I surfaced the next morning. Had a very quiet Sunday recovering from the excesses of the previous night!

Well done to Graham on the Poker table, managed to turn things around half way through and walk away with a sizable pot.

I'll sort out another one before the end of summer.

Ummm, yeah, sorry, redface

Didn't actually look that bad in thumbnail. I'll delete it.

Note to self: Don't play with things to fix the perspective, when you should have taken a better photo to begin with redface

Be warned... next poker evening you won't get off so lightly! Recovering from such a surprise puts me off my game!

Oh and Graham, when's your next trackday?
