Lotus, BMW Jaguar Driver training day at Puke 10th Aug.

Any of you lot planning on going out for a look see?

I don’t think I will be entering but might head out for a gander anyway as just an excuse for a drive. I know a couple of Esprits turning up at this stage but unsure of the rest.

Hi Roger, yeah hard to say what the weather will be like on the day. There could be five different weather patterns from Westharbour to Puke hehe Our boarder who drives a big old land yacht (90s Merc) is signed up and taking it out to clear the cobwebs so should be a laugh. I said ill go out to support him and some others going out. So this time ill just watch and perhaps take a sneaky camera out. ļ

Hi K! If i go it'll prob be with the trailer as last time i went i had zero visibility on way home-much more dangerous than on track. Fraser+ rain = total stupidity. Intersting reading road report from brit car mag recently, though. The journo just invested in some serious off-shore yachting- style wet weather gear and drove top -off in all weathers. But of course i have my red leather to think of!

Don't worry. If you get 'em wet the stitching will rot before the leather becomes a problem. tongue out

If this weather persists then so will everyone else. hehe I'll probably head down for a look, it usually makes for a decent afternoon's entertainment.

'tis usually a good day out, have missed it since being in the UK. Not quite as nannying as the BMW day at Taupo and can get some good lapping in towards the end. Is usually a couple of Espirits which are amazing, beautiful things!

can thoroughly recommend...if its wet just enjoying mucking around at the hairpin

Theres a few of us meeting up just before MOTAT around 8. So there should be an old Merc, a 356 Speedster and two Loti. If you want to tag along in the P&J feel free.

So how was it? I'm afraid my faith in the weather was such that I didn't even register. Looks like I missed a beauty

Kylie, any chance of throwing some words together for the next Mag today? I've got the next edition finished and just a very small blurb on what went on that you saw would be great... really don't need any more than a few words to show that someone was there smile

Hoping to get the issue out Wednesday.

Cheers smile

Nice club mag George clap Although disappointed not to see your project in there, the tech section is what people love to read about, so glad its now included. smile

Anyway what is this car below? It had AJS on the grill. The plate search brings up an AJS which is old motorcycles??

This ive seen before you either love it or hate it. They must have spent serious money on it. Does sound quite good though.

Thanks Kylie... it takes a bit of effort to put together so it's nice to know people read it... including my project would be far too large.

Would be cool to do a bit of a write-up sometime on the re-skinning process you did on your rear wing (since the result turned out so fabulous) Let me know if you'd like it included sometime and I'll put something together with your help smile
