As promised, here's a random collection of photos I've uploaded from the NZHondas NIMM trackday weekend and also from my ensuing trip to Hawkes Bay:

Richard besting a Civic in the Elise

Richard's Elise looking nice, clean and unbent.... for now

Me, Exiting the second hairpin

Richard and I, at it hammer and tongs

Parked in Pitlane, unloading

I like this pic, Richard and I coming back in after our duel... pic looks awesome.

Chasing Adrian's Integra

Flat out down the back straight

Parked in pitlane

Waiting to go on track...

Graham, hard under brakes off the back straight

Richard driving Graham's toy, flat out on back straight.

XTR2 looking menacin, nosing out of pit garage

Oopsie.... a little unplanned delay on the trip from Taupo to Hawkes Bay... damage avoided!

The following are a few photos I took last night on my way back to Auckland from Hawkes Bay. I took the back roads and endured heavy showers. Found myself in beautiful countryside under stormy skies during a wonderful golden sunset, I just had to pull over and take some shots. I'm no photographer but the last pic came out just awesome! These images are all straight off the camera, no post-editing done.

Wow what camera are you using, hidden talents? The fifth one from the top looks like a magazine shot is so well done. The colour of the Exige is really awesome for taking pics, its seems that no matter what type of light its in your getting great pics from the camera. But all are great. Ok so who was the fastest? We all want to know wink

The only pics that I took were the ones in the sunset and the ones of it going on the low-loader... the others were NZHondas members snapping away.

I had the legs on richard by 1-2 seconds a lap.... but we had a bit of fun.... Richard's car is pretty much as quick as mine, I've probably only got 10-15bhp on him.

Cool pics of the XTR2, I bet it loves that track. What times is everyone doing on it? What track No. was used on this meet?

That was Track #4 which is the full length track with the "twin hairpin" corner complex instead of the fast "A1GP sweeper", as used in track #1.

I was getting 1:50s laps out of the car, although it's got more to give once the driver gets better and I sort out some minor handling niggles smile I reckon it'll do a 1:46 there once it's all sorted out.

On your current rubber or would that be with Slicks or Stickies ???

Same tyres, just newer ones. Mine are kinda old and could do with a refresh... I'll wear 'em bald first though. Not going to slicks... My mantra is you should run your car how it turns up at the track and you HAVE to drive it to the track.... removing a few bits of trim etc is ok... but if the car's that hardcore that you need to trailer it there, why aren't you racing it instead of pottering around at trackdays?

Appreciate in Graham's case that driving to Taupo's not really practical... but all of these non-driving Hondas were a bit of a shock.... my general aim is to be the fastest "run what you brung" car of the day in pretty much exactly the same spec as I drive it on the streets (bar tyre pressures etc).

So are you letting a bit of air out for track days on that sticky rubber. I used to have to do that for running the RA1's on the track for even grip and pump up again for general road use.

Yup.... 24/26 for road use and then let them down so that it runs around 22/24 on track when hot.

I wouldn't have got through those roadworks north of Matamata.

Got absolutely covered in cement splashes on the way home so drove straight to Greenlane Washworld. Got lots of funny looks washing the Westie on the trailer. hehe

Splashes weren't that bad on the way down.... didn't go that way on the way home... went the "fun" way... car still got plenty dirty though.... washed it last night... still much cleaning to do though.
