You could ask an air base to use their private planes as a back drop? Love to do this one day at Whenuapai, they have some interesting stuff there.

Boils down to where you are located and far you want to travel to get that perfect shot. You could go industrial, country, sunset clouds reflecting, or old villas, musuems, modern architecture. Look at what Top Gear do, I am always fasinated by how they capture their car shots, through trees, camera layed low on wet tar seal looking up at the car, using coloured lens filters to darken the sky. Quite often their back drops is not what I would use in a million years, but the camera work to capture a certain angle and look from nothing is just amazing!

You could try driving around downtown Auckland early on Sun morn or around the Museum and get some nice shots with different camera angles or something.

Post pics and share when you do get something smile

Is there going to be any 'bint' on the car? Perhaps a secluded spot might be best if there is... ;-)

Otherwise, I'd vote for one of the following...

  • The road thru the old quarry out to Bethels? beach
  • One of the parkup spots on Scenic drive, that looks out towards the city
  • The bit of road just over the bridge at Karekare beach, that has the waterfall as a backdrop.
Can you tell what part of the city I was from? biggrin

I live on Lone Kauri road Karekare, and was just thinking that this morning, but further up near La trobe where the trees form an arch over the road.I cant even take the car home though with a km of gravel driveway!

Like the idea of a deserted city shot Kylie, now I can acheive that, what about a bomb hoax..biggrin

Why a hoax? Some 'fireworks' in the background could make a nice shot hehe

(Is the car shiny enough to give a good reflection of flames?)

wink

I reckon thats had some 'post-processing' done... dropping the colour out of the background is a great way to bring out the subject of a photo though. Only works with bright colours really. If anyone is interested in trying it I have the instructions for Photoshop somewhere.
