Theres probably a whole forum for these but Im interested what the NZ people are up to. My exige and 47 model just arrived yesterday so thought it was a good time.

Here are some of my favourites from my collection (these normally all sit under plastic but some removed for the photos

1/18 Minichamps BMW CSL

1/18 Kyosho Nissan Skyline

1/43 IXO Lotus Elite

1/43 Kyosho Lotus 47

1/43 Spark Lotus Exige

I try to stay away from 1/43 but most of the cars I like arnt made in the larger sizes. Often you cant expect a great amount of detail but the spark ones are incredible and the IXO one isnt too far behind, both ahead of Kyosho which are pretty well known to be good. So in summary id happily but more of any of the brands.

Next on my list is a Spark Lous 23.

Anyone else have anything interesting?

I used to do Tamiya plastic kits 1:24 scale.
I did a bunch of rally cars.

Toyota Celica GT-FOUR ST185 (Carlos Sainz)
Toyota Celica GT-FOur ST205 (Road Car)
Ford Escort RS Cosworth (F. Delecour)
Mistubishi Lancer Evo 4 (Tommi Makinen), this was a Hasegawa kit, with actual seatbelts I had to thread thru buckles arrrgggghhh!
Toyota Corolla WRC (Carlos Sainz)
98' Subaru Impreza WRC (Colin McRae)
Peugeot 206 WRC
Audi Quattro (Road Car)

And I had a Peugeot 306 Maxi 1/10 RC car for awhile, was good fun.

I always thought about getting into die-casts, but I enjoyed making the plastic kits, and was put off by the prices a bit. I do want a 2005 Renault F1 (Fernando Alonso) thou, to remember my trip to the Malaysian GP.

Hehe had to get some pictures sorted...

To keep the collection in control I only collect Porsches and in road trim only unless they were only available in race form. I don't buy one a month just when they pop up and I can afford them. A lot have come from, surprise surprise... TradeMe. I also have a friend in Auckland who sources from all over the world and has VERY good contacts. Let me know if you would like to be put in touch with him. There is some very cool stuff out there like the 1/5 scale Ferrari engines and working 356 engines etc but we are talking thousands of $$$. One day I plan to open a Bakery/Cafe with a Motoring theme. A variety of paraphenalia on display, models, fullscale cars, pictures, gas pumps etc. Something that everyone can enjoy and experience. Very similar to the very popular hangout in the U.K that I can't remember the name of that has a car/bike club there every Sunday. Below are some pics from our Cafe. The non Porsche models in the cabinet are on loan. I've since added a very nice longtail which is not pictured.

Sorry Roger NO Saabs

My rare 1/8th scale Diecast Pocher 993 next to a 1/18th 356

Coin op rideon (old pic, it's almost finished now)

Another mates collection.

No... banghead It was less than an hour down the road during three years of TVR ownership, but somehow never quite made it. An outstanding example of Things One Should Do While One Has A Bloody Chance.

Well... being an hour away, a return trip is still far beyond the 98% confidence interval of a TVR breakdown probability, so you're excused for not venturing that far wink

Just kidding... I'd like to go there someday.

Always been a pet peeve of mine that 99% of Europa models are TCs where I prefer the original S1/S2/47 shape.

Still I suppose at least you can get them at all, alot of other cars arnt so lucky
