A1GP Black Beauty on Tour
Discussion
I'm surprised that this slipped thru the cracks here, but Team NZL are taking Black Beauty around the country.
It's nearly over now unfortunately, was in Timaru today, and is in Christchurch tomorrow.
I went down to have a look. Johnny Reid, Daniel Gaunt and Bob McMurry were great to talk to.
Here's hopeing to for one better next year!
I'll hopefully have some pics up later.

Some times your just in the right place at the right time
I was taking some photos and when around the front to get some nose shots.
Standing there was a lady with a big flash camera.
She asked "Are you from Timaru?"
I said "Yes"
She said "Could I get a photo of you with the car for the Timaru Hearld"
I said "Umm, arrr, dunno about that"
She said "I'll get you in the car"
"SOLD!!"
No ecu, so unfortunately no test pilots.
Driving positions pretty good. Feels like the old saying "Lying in the bath, with feet on the taps"
Getting into the thing wasnt too back, actually reminded me of getting into your Elise George.
Damn narrow down in the footwell.
Seat didnt seem padded but was still comfy (bit damp thou), although I was so happy there could have been thumb tacks on the seat and I would still be smiling
One thing I noticed was how short Johnny Reid and Daniel Gaunt are.
Guess I would have never made it with my 6" plus frame.
While I was there a parking warden went past (car was under tent in carpak on the main street).
hmmm exceeding 60min time zone, no rego, no warrent, 4 bald tyres, no lights, indicators, windscreen... need I go on?
Interesting factoid - The blue cable with the red handle you can see in the cockpit, is to select reverse gear!
