Hi guys, haven’t had much to post of late my mind has been else where in the art room, but happy to say using PPG Delton paints (car paint)
Below are some of my latest creations I did on an airbrushing course that ran for three weeks. Hubby wants the 32 roadster air brushed so guess I had to start learning in a hurry

Jimi is unfinished.

Wow !!!

Is airbrushing unsuited to the solidish colours of cell-cartoons? Like Roadrunner & Wylie E Coyote?

Nah most things can be painted with an airbrush with a bit of know how Cartoons have solid outlines and generally flat tones for the colouring. I have never tried them, but dosent look too bad?

Kylie... so if a person was to commission you to give you a Helmet to practice on....... scratchchin

I've been looking to get a new helmet for a while and was toying with the idea of getting a white one and getting it airbrushed.. Although airbrushing costs a PACKET

Your right airbrush commissions are expensive but cause I am still a newbie I couldnt charge what the pros do yikes. I just have to get set up properly first to accomodate thinners in the art room, wont take too long though. Air brushing helmets can be a bit of work apparently as all the clear has to be sanded back and a primer applied before even getting started. There are some really cool designs out there for helmets. But to make it cheap you could do some of the prep work yourself so all I had to do the airbrushing part? Otherwise am sure we sort it all out. Anyway will be in touch.

Wow, awesome Kylie... mine would be a fairly simple design, I'd just like something different than the standard range is all

It'll be a month or two before I can afford a new helmet anyway

www.airbrushhelmet.com/helmet-gallery.htm

Just an example of one page in million out there on the net. I could do any of these, but the skulls and metal look ones that dont have masking and cutting would be less time consuming. Although the painting of the visor would fail your pre race inspections though....geezus wonder why!! Apparently you can see through this special type of visor but very dodgy vision!!

Cheers fellas, I have big hopes for Simons 32 Roadster like no other paint job out there, the question is if I am allowed to be let loose on it hehe. I have some plans drawn up already that nobody has done before. Thats all I am saying

I have promised myself sooner rather than later to throw the towel in on my 8-5 job as this arty side is getting the better of me. I also want to exibit more art work professionally and make a few bucks along the way. Life is too short to be caught up in the daily grind.

Yeah that would be funny, although I have never really liked the short time frame he gives people to pull off a big task not to mention the idiots that just want to get on tele. I really like Chip Foose and his team, hes a clever artist with a few brains and the work he produces uses all top $$$ parts. Overhaulin NZ would be the business. Hey if my car gets stolen you'll have mail with a wish list

Top stuff Kylie and I wish you all the best with replacing the 8-5 with something you really enjoy.

I wish I had such a talent to fall back on, I'd quit my crumby job tomorrow if I could!

If you want a classic Ford pickup or two to work on I'm sure Mike at airport service garage would like a flash paintjob!

I also know a chap who works for Magoos in Masterton - I'm sure they'd be interested in your talents.
