Yeah... although in NZ I'll bet the cops take a dim view on this.... but with all the confiscated cars, I'm sure there'll be some bargain Bentleys /Lambos etc turning up at the Police Auctions afterwards!

Hi guys - long time since I've been here

Thought we'd give the devilsrun a go. Going in the TVR which looks awesome. We made up some additional badging which looks great - not sure how to post pictures quickly else I would! We've also got some outrageous driving outfits - don't know if we're going to wear them all yet
Should be some TV3 coverage - not sure when but we are doing a run under police escort down queen st at 10:00 on Wednesday - then off to the track at Taupo

Must admit I'm a bit nervous as I really want to have my licence after the event!! Any great suggestions on where and what to be extra careful of?

Have you entered George?

Roger

Although I would love to, I am not doing the run but will see you on Thursday as I booked the same ferry to the South Island - I hope you make some noise on the way in to the ship, I haven't heard a TVR for ages.

Just paint it stealth black, then their radar won't see you anyway.

Haven't put any of it to the test yet.
Will let you know in a week or so!!!

I still think that it will generally be slow driving as a convoy of 25 exotic cars has to be something that every cop in NZ would dearly love to get a piece of! Wonder what their bonus might be for each one of us??

Had an excited phone call from a work mate today driving from Wellington to New Plymouth who drove past the convoy near Wanganui.

Reckoned he had already seen 7 - 8 bounty hunters...

They made it into the Dom Post today - picture of Roger Battersby in a purple dress to match his purple TVR. Nice. The car that is.

...a trio of Porsche 996's each valued at nearly $400,000...

scratchchin What sort of 996 is valued at $400k? most expensive 996 I've seen for sale in NZ recently was a very low km's GT2 clubsport for ~$200k. Or are they quoting the new prices for 5 year old cars trying to make the people seem more rich/wasteful/etc? scratchchin

ETA or are they RUFs? $400k still seems pretty high for a RUF 996 though?
