I think I got most of your cars, this isn't all my shots so if yours isn't here let me know and I'll see if I've got it.

PS Richard, do you want me to post these up on Petrolheads as well? You're welcome to use them if you're doing a trackday write-up or anything.

Well done Ben. thumbup I've got some excellent pics of the track where a selection of Lotii were milliseconds earlier

Apparently I needed to turn off the face-recognition system and increase the sample rate of the display
rolleyes There should be a 'MotorSport' button.

I find panning works well for cars coming past - pre-focus on the point of the track where you plan to take the photo (by half-pressing the button on mine, not sure about your camera), hold that focus, then follow the car through with the camera and take the photo as it passes through that point. Generally gets best results if you keep following through after you press the button too, depending on shutter speeds etc. If shutter is on the slow side it will blur the scenery instead of the car

Mine has a general 'sport' mode on the dial on top which I generally use for motorsport and find it works ok most of the time, but if its too dull/dark/raining I tend to use manual settings and play round until it looks ok. I find getting it sharp is more important than contrast/brightness as those can always be tweaked later on the computer.

Yep, I've always panned for motorsport shots with my SLRs but this new digital is a bit tricky.

With it's default settings the viewfinder was refreshing too slow to see what on earth was happening. Need to wade through the instructions.

That looks very familiar! I hope the Lotus guys faired a little better than the last time I was down there and cars seemed to be breaking and crashing left, right and centre. How is the Westy running Graham? thumbup

Ahh I see. Interesting that you went from SLR to regular digital, I'm planning on upgrading to a digi-SLR at some stage when I have the necessary surplus of funds. May be a while though, bl00dy student loan...

Why can't you see my shattered teeth flying around or me texting a physiotherapist to sort out my compacted vertebrae?

I think that section of Pukekohe from halfway along the front straight throught to the end of Jennian is getting worse. It didn't matter which line I took (and I took a different one each lap ) the bounce, shudder, thump was terrible. Although as it got warmer later in the day it didn't seem so bad ?
