LS6, meet Cerby
Discussion

18 months ago I bought a fire damaged Cerbera from a bloke in Bedford (PHer plasticman)
10 months ago I bought an LS6 from a bloke in Auckland (schizophrenic PHer chevtrev, V8sag, etc. - you know the one)
Yesterday in torrential rain and a howling Wellington northerly I brought the Cerb down from the old chicken shed in Otaki it had been hiding in, and they finally met for the first time in my new built-for-the-purpose garage.
First job - swing the lump in and see if it fits. Wish me luck!

Cheers
and yep, this project has had a long gestation and I've done my homework... by the time the chassis has been extensively modified to take the donor engine & box and other mods along the way this will qualify as scratch built (I hope). The Wellington Constructors Car Club have been real helpful, and as most if not all local LVV certifiers are active club members I feel quite well advised.

Car parts. MAF inspected it and slapped a green sticker on it without even spraying it. Customs and LTSA declined to take a personal interest. Which suited me fine.
Actually the photo makes it look more complete than it is - for the full gruesome detail of what's there (and what's not) try these pics

Was the fire a known TVR problem or completely unrelated ?

I have heard of two others as well as this one (which happened before I bought it) and there's probably been more - which seems a lot given there's not all that many Cerbs out there. Maybe a bit of poor design with rubbing fuel lines?
Don
Didn't take you long to get into this once you had the building work finished.. are you very dedicated or just avoiding 'real' work???
Seriously, let me know if you ever need a hand with anything, I'm only 5 mins away and have develeped an interest in V8s after the Targa.....

Gee,I hope I sent the the right engine down, had an old ls 5.3 truck engine here,i'll go and check.
No worries Paul, the iron blocks are supposed to be good for 1000HP+

LOL.
Yes epoxy floor, barely dry the day the Cerb arrived. It's been a bit of a mission getting set up for this project. The garage is 8 x 6m excavated out of the hill in front of (below) my house, originally done as just a carpad with no roof in 2001 before I went to the UK. Came back last year with the Cerb project and so a roof was required... but why just put up a roof when you can go up another level... so I've been full time building for the last 10 months with the result being this 'garage roof' www.pepperjacks.co.nz

Kylie - I've never done anything remotely like this scale of car project before, so expect I will be leaning heavily on the collective knowledge of PH in the UK and here.

Where have the engine/box come from? And how much chassis modification will be needed to get it all together? I guess having a tube front end already makes it easier? Fantastic project, it'll be a stunner when its done.
Engine and box came from Paul (V8Sag) And it's not just a tube front end, it's a tube EVERYTHING :P
