Heres a few shots from the Waipori Gorge stage of the Silver Fern Rally last week. Enjoy. (a few pics so may take a while to load)

Datsun Sumo wagon rofl

Little Golf was driven through 2 stages (first one half snow) with no windscreen - Brrrr!

Rob Murray - 4th overall

Smokin' Joe McAndrew - 3rd overall

Stig Blomqvist - bow 2nd overall by 13 minutes (after over 11hrs of competitive stages as well as the touring)

Brian Stokes, winner in the Escort RS Cosworth - fastest car in the field, but quick & consistent driving too.

Nice photos thumbup

Is the ratio of Fords an accurate reflection of the number of entrants?

I think that Datsun Sumo wagon should win an award . . . a special award . . . for something paperbag

Final results page here: www.silverfernrally.co.nz/rally05/results/final.htm should give a good impression of what cars were entered. A lot of Fords, quite a few nice old Porsches, an assortment of others. 69 cars entered, 25 completed all the stages. (Most which didn't complete stages rejoined after fixing their car though).

Also the field media reports www.silverfernrally.co.nz/media/index.php have many amusing quotes from drivers over the course of the event - I might browse through and compile a list of the best when I have a bit more spare time.

Those porkers have seen more gravel than the entire world wide fleet of Cayennes! Great photos, and how good is it to see both old and new Eskies at the pointy end of the field?
