Hire cars in NZ (and Golf)
Discussion
Hi all
Have a holiday planned for 3 weeks over Christmas and New Year and will be attempting to do all the touristy stuff in the North Island as well as play as many Golf Courses as I can fit in. Can anyone recommend a decent hire car company, I am after something like a Subaru Outback, or station wagon (preferably with a modicum of performance so at least 2.0 litre). Have so far been given a few quotes by www.a2brentals.co.nz which look very reasonable but the cars appear a little crappy.
Any recommendations for Golf courses greatfully received, an invite to meet up and play would be even better (especially if you are a member of Cape Kidnappers or Kauri Cliffs ).

I've used a2b rentals, cheap & cheerfull, reliable but old cars (mid 90's jappas). Fairly typical of the average family car here so you wont look like a tourist. Was $30 a day for a 1.5 pulsar auto (sunny?) slow as but got us round. Didnt have anything flash if I remember.
Not sure where does bigger cars for decent moeny in Auckland (I asume your landing there) should be plenty of scoobs for rental tho.
