Bonnivelle is about 1 and a half hours from Salt Lake city and definitely worth the trip. I was there in 1999. It rained the day before the speed trials. Bugger. I have a great picture of Bonneville as a huge 2 inch deep lake. Looked just stunning.

Unseasonably cold while in SLC. It rained (unusual), hailed (unheard of) and I didn't make it to Bonneville. I asked our psycho taxi driver and he said it was "way down near the Nevada border" If I'd known it was only 1.5 hours away I would have gone. Ah, well, I'm there every year.

Are the micro breweries / cafes still in action? It was about the only place in the south of the US I could get a decent beer in 1999.
The stupid licensing laws also meant you had to join a club(that will be an extra $1 sir) to sit in the licensed part of a resturant, well weird.
I never made it out to Ogden where the Vescso's Turbinator lived. 450mph wheel driven. Well Hard! Moved to Rockville now apparently www.teamvesco.com/. The Vescos are an amazing family.

excuse tardy reply: My favourite beer there was a "Moab Dead Horse Pale Ale" Great to see stuff on tap that wasn't "Bud"
