Coming to visit

My brother and myself are coming over to NZ for most of december we have a campervan to get around in. we have about 10 days on the south island and 7 in the north.

What is the best thing to do for christmas day we will be in the north island but not quite sure where!!

Are there any car events/motorsport events happening in december would love to get my fix of automotive fun while im out there

Not sure just at the moment. If you were going to be here the following month there would be a round of the A1 in Taupo - 21 January 2007.

Have a look through the Motorsport NZ information on race circuits. Go to each track and select their events page. Like Manfields one below.

That should be a good start for you. There's also the drags at Meremere, Masterton and down South (where?) and local club events which a google search might help you with. You could also look under http://forums.performancecar.co.nz/ph and see any up and coming events in each area. That should keep you busy. There's also www.southward.org.nz/ and some other interesting places I will find and post up later

Christmas is VERY busy at camp sites, make sure you have a few stops booked around then & booked early. NZ doesnt get bust apart from xmas, locals go camping for the 2 weeks.

as for Christmas day, my friends and family all pack up B.B.Q's and go down to Mahia Beach? (they take fully decorated christmas tree's!)
