I have recently got a nice Esprit SE but had forgotten that i need to each plenty of spinach if i ever wanted to drive it around at normal speeds or in town. I am led to believe that i could fit power stearing from another vehicle. has any one got ideas what donor parts i would need? i also presume it would need certification too?

Welcome in

I'm afraid I can't answer your question, because (despite my name) I'm no huge technical afficionado on the Esprit. If you post this same message on the PistonHeads Esprit Messageboard, I'm sure you'll get many helpful replies.

Were you the gent we passed a couple of weekends ago on the CLNZ run in the Black Esprit whose wife was having a green moment? (I'm sorry I've forgotten your real name). I'm George, I would have spoken to you over lunch (and at the pub the month before) and I've got the Silver Elise.

EDIT: I've just checked your profile.... pleased to meet you (again) Nick

Ah yes our first introduction to the club outings... I will be lucky to have her as co driver again after three good stops on that trip. I will figure out how to post it on the message board.

Thanks for your advice and see you at the next club meet.

Geday Nick, I responded to you in the Esprit Forum too, welcome in here and really nice to meet you again on the run out to Karaka I cant remember if I told you I had power steering fitted to my car by Ken at KW Historics. The whole system is Isuzu. You can ask Ken as to the exact procedure involved as he organised it. Was a mod done by a previous owner before I got the car. I think it cost a few grand to get someone else to do it.

Feel free to email me any time and also come over home for a looksee at how mines fitted. I got to admit its dam good for parking but not that noticable once the car is up to speed, theres still plenty of feel through to the wheels too driving
